A house fire in Cape Coral on Sunday left at least one homeowner hospitalized and resulted in the deaths of several dogs, according to authorities.
The fire broke out shortly before noon at a home on the 1500 block of SE 19th Lane.
The Cape Coral Police Department confirmed that nine dogs were inside the residence at the time, though some did not survive. The exact number is not confirmed.
The condition of the hospitalized homeowner remains unknown.
