HORNBROOK, Calif. — Successful rescue in Hornbrook! Two dogs were reunited with their owner after being swept down the Klamath River on Sunday.
According to the Hornbrook Fire Protection District, the two dogs went into the river off Klamathan Road, roughly a mile north of the Colliers rest area. They said firefighters arrived on the scene and rescued a large white dog; however, a smaller black and white dog was swept downriver before they arrived.
After spending hours searching for the dog along the riverbank, they turned to the community for help. The white dog was sent to Rescue Rach until its owner was found.
Thankfully, in a positive turn of events, the Hornbrook Fire Protection District said the dogs’ owner was located. Additionally, they said the smaller black and white dog managed to find its way home.
