COLUMBUS, Ohio — A young boy is in a hospital in “extremely” critical condition Sunday after he was attacked by two dogs, reports say.
WCMH Channel 4 reports the attack on the boy, who is younger than 10 years old, occurred in the city’s North Linden neighborhood. WBNS Channel 10 reports an officer responding to the scene shot both dogs involved in the attack, killing one.
Another officer took the boy to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, WSYX Channel 6 reports.
Police say the surviving dog has been turned over to animal control, which is investigating the attack. The dogs did not belong to the boy’s family and reportedly had been running loose in the neighborhood.
No information was released on the breed of the dogs.
