Over the last year, Anna Sawai has solidified her place as one of the best dressed stars on the red carpet. Unsurprisingly, her off-duty style is just as flawless.
Earlier today, the Shōgun actress was spotted out and about in Los Angeles wearing a casual chic outfit consisting of a black blazer over a white t-shirt with a pair of light wash straight leg jeans and ivory pumps. Sawai completed the polished look with an on-trend east-west bag from Coach.
Known as the Empire Carryall, the elongated silhouette is inspired by the New York state of mind. It’s crafted of supple leather and features a spacious main compartment with multifunctional pockets designed to hold small essentials and a dogleash lanyard to secure a key or chain pouch. The stylish number, which is also available in black or a chocolate brown, is finished with interior buckles that can expand the side gussets when you need extra space and longer slender straps.
As T&C previously reported, east-west bags are shaping up to be one of the biggest trends of spring 2025. And if you’ve been keeping up with the recent fashion shows in New York, London and Milan, the popularity of the ladylike over-the-shoulder style is only going to continue into fall.
Sawai’s off-duty appearance comes days after she accepted an award for Shōgun at the SAG Awards. “I’m very happy but I’m also kind of sad because this is probably the last time I’m able to celebrate the work with you guys,” Sawai said in emotional speech. “Last year when this show came out, the only thing I wanted was for people to watch it. So this has been beyond my imagination.”
