Dogs in Hillsboro possibly stuck in van for several days

HILLSBORO Ore. (KPTV) – A developing situation is happening in Hillsboro Wednesday night, where neighbors are concerned about dogs that they say have been abandoned in a parked van for several days.

The dogs appear to be okay but the footage may be upsetting for some viewers.

FOX 12 found the van parked at a Hillsboro apartment complex with more than one dog visible inside.

It is not known who owns the van or how long the dogs have been there.

A woman who lives at the complex claims the animals have been left alone for seven days, but that timeline has not been confirmed by Hillsboro Police.

Officers have checked on the dogs at least twice and determined that they are safe.

“It’s really hard out there right now, a lot of people are homeless and living in their cars, so I don’t want anybody to get mad at people for leaving their dogs in the car. I’m sure that maybe there’s a situation that made this happen you know?” said a neighbor.

Hillsboro Police say they have been in touch with the owner, and say animal control officials have been involved with the check-ins.

Investigators say they should know more about how the situation will be resolved on Thursday morning.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
