Kmart shoppers go wild over $12 item that looks similar to $910 buy

Fashion-conscious shoppers have discovered a $12 item from Kmart that’s an affordable alternative to a $910 luxury buy.

The budget retailer’s Crossbody Bag, available in black and brown, has been compared to See by Chloé Hana Handbag.

The bags share some similarities, including the gold buckle and adjustable straps.

But despite the significant price difference, there are key features the $12 version lacks.

The designer handbags are made from calfskin leather, while Kmart’s items are made from a mixture of polypropylene (thermoplastic plastic), polyester, cotton and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Thrifty customers suggested the cheaper handbags were perfect for those who can’t afford to fork out hundreds of dollars on high-end label.

Many were excited to get their hands on the ‘timeless’ bags.

‘I love these,’ one said.

‘I like the Kmart one better,’ another shared.

‘I can’t wait to see these,’ one revealed.

‘OMG I need these,’ another added.

Earlier this year, a $25 item from Kmart was flying off the shelves after shoppers discovered it looked similar to a $575 high-end version.

The budget retailer has been selling a pair of Buckle Slingback Ballet Flats, available in three colours – red, black and white – that closely resemble Ganni’s range of Feminine Buckle Ballerinas.

Both brands’ pointed-toe flats have similar features, including metal eyelet detailing, buckle-strap fastenings and low stacked heels.

Upon a closer look, Kmart’s shoes have a single row of metal eyelet detailing on each strap, while the Danish fashion brand’s off-white version has two rows.

‘We can’t get enough of this $25 Ganni lookalike from Kmart,’ Aussie fashion blogger behind Kmart Insider said on Instagram.

Bargain hunters have confirmed the cheaper flats are ‘so comfy’ while others shared that they were ‘running’ to Kmart to grab a pair.

‘The Kmart versions are amazing in these shoes. So good in fact they are selling out everywhere,’ one said.

‘I tried these on, they were really comfy,’ one said.

‘So cute,’ another added.

‘OMG I’m running,’ one shared.

Meanwhile, many were amazed by the colour options.

‘I have the white – find them comfy enough so have purchased the black… I may get the red when it’s in my Kmart,’ one shared.

‘What? They come in black and red as well? I only saw white,’ another said.

‘I wish I knew they were bringing black ones out. My Kmart only had white so I got them but would have preferred black,’ one explained.

‘Ooo I saw the red and white in store but not the black. Will have to check it out,’ another added.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
