WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – Five dogs were seized from a Wakulla County property Tuesday, according to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office.
The seizure of the dogs was conducted at a property off Walden Road, the sheriff’s office told WCTV Wednesday. The same property was “familiar to animal control” for separate “animal-related calls” in the past, WCSO said.

Six other dogs were surrendered to a rescue with a Leon County address, according to Wakulla County deputies.
The seizure comes after videos circulated on social media “that allege neglect and abuse of numerous dogs” at a Wakulla County home, prompting a criminal investigation by the sheriff’s office, WCSO wrote in a social media post Tuesday. Deputies and animal control officers from Wakulla Animal Services visited the property “to assess the animals involved,” the post said.
The videos have also gained traction beyond the Big Bend, with profiles based out of states as far as New Jersey and Ohio commenting about the allegations on both WCSO’s Facebook page and other profiles and social media platforms.
WCSO’s post, which was shared on the official page for the office and Sheriff Jared Miller, received more than 200 likes and 70 shares. WCSO limited who could comment on the post, so no comments are visible.
