6 dogs dead amid parvovirus outbreak at Ontario County animal shelter

Hopewell, N.Y. — Six dogs have died from parvovirus amid an outbreak at Ontario County’s Happy Tails Animal Shelter.

The shelter has been closed since Feb. 14 due to the outbreak of the highly contagious virus.

The outbreak stemmed from an animal cruelty case in Geneva that led to 11 dogs being seized, according to the Ontario County Humane Society.

The shelter currently houses 48 dogs, according to a release issued Tuesday, with no new positive tests or symptoms reported in the last week.

Happy Tails is scheduled to reopen Thursday.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
