A man’s attempt to relax in his hammock has gone viral on TikTok, after his dog tried everything to impede his downtime.
TikTok user @dw1991488 shared a hilarious video online showing how he tried to enjoy a nice afternoon outside in his hammock. Unfortunately for the Australian, his peace and quiet was quickly disturbed by his chocolate Labrador, who kept trying to climb into the hammock as well.
What started off as a tranquil moment of solitude turned into a disaster, as the Labrador showed no understanding of personal space.
The video has left internet users in hysterics since it was shared, leading to more than 4.6 million views and over 1 million likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
Newsweek has contacted @dw1991488 via TikTok for comment.
The Labrador certainly seemed desperate to climb into his owner’s blue hammock, despite having his very own one placed directly beside his owner.
During the clip, the frustrated owner can be heard saying: “Can you stay in your own please? Please, leave me alone. I’m trying to hang out.”
Shortly after, the owner showed how he was forced to hold his dog’s hammock up high just to stop the cheeky pup from trying to climb over.
Alongside the hilariously chaotic video, the caption joked that the dog’s behavior was “absolutely diabolical.”
It’s no surprise that Labradors are one of America’s favorite dog breeds, due to their lovable personalities and outgoing nature. The American Kennel Club highlights them as being “famously friendly” and having more than enough affection to go around.
These playful and social dogs are known for being great with children and also with other dogs. However, any Labrador owner must be prepared for their high energy levels, as they require plenty of exercise to stay mentally and physically active.
So, an unwinding in a hammock all afternoon isn’t necessarily what Labradors would class as fun.

While the owner certainly wasn’t too happy with his dog’s antics, social media users couldn’t get enough. Indeed, the owner has even shared subsequent videos showing the dog continuing to disrupt his peace, much to the delight of TikTok users.
At the time of writing, the viral TikTok video has amassed over 3,200 comments as internet users lauded the playful Velcro dog.
One comment reads: “As his lawyer I’m here to tell you that you’re legally obligated to let the good boy invade your space!”
Another person wrote: “Labs have no sense of personal space.”
“How dare you not just put him in your hammock, he just wants cuddles,” joked another TikTok user.
While one commenter added: “As an owner of a Labrador, I can confirm personal space is not an option.”
