Reese Euler has won 13 team and individual state medals and will be looking to add to that collection next month.

Thursday night, Euler, one of the most decorated gymnasts in Columbus North history, celebrated her senior night with a sweep of the four individual events and the all-around competition in a dual meet against Columbus East. Her 37.375 in the all around led the Bull Dogs to a 107.7 to 90.1 victory.

“It’s kind of crazy,” said Euler, who was honored along with fellow senior Arwyn Tian. “Being here four years, it felt like such a long time on the daily, but it actually flew by really fast, so it was kind of sad. But I think it was a good way to end.

Euler won the vault (9.3), bars (9.375), beam (9.45) and floor (9.25).

“I stayed on everything and hit 4 for 4, so that was exciting,” Euler said. “My goal for my senior night was just to have fun as a team and then to try and hit 4 for 4. I accomplished both of those goals, so I was really happy with that. Then, I’m just going to build on these scores going into sectional and regional.”

Four different North gymnasts finished second on the four individual events. Hayden Harper took second on the vault (9.05) and all-around (34.675), Emerson Chambers was second on the bars (8.775), Hannah Perry placed second on the beam (8.9) and Ellie McIntier finished second on the floor (8.8).

Chambers also placed third on the beam (8.85) and floor (8.675) and in the all-around (34.65). Perry finished third on the vault (8.8), and Harper was third on the bars (8.475) and fourth on the beam (8.575).

“I thought we did pretty well,” North coach Bob Arthur said. “We still have some cleaning up to do. We’re leaving some points on the table, still. I saw a lot of execution errors today that at this stage of the game, we should not be having.”

The Bull Dogs had one of their highest scores of the season on the beam, where they swept the four podium spots.

“Beam, I was real pleased with that since we had three girls stay on,” Arthur said. “We finally jumped into a 27 as an event score on beam. We were down a little bit on bars, but the judging was tight.”

North had scored a season-high 110.425 in winning Saturday’s Connersville Invitational, but slipped to a 107.85 in capturing the Conference Indiana title Monday.

“A 107.7 is probably about where our average falls,” Arthur said. “Really, that’s not a bad score, considering the judges we had because they’re a pretty tight group. I think the girls had a great meet at Connersville, but I also think the judging was a little more liberal, so that may explain the 110.”

Meanwhile, the Olympians’ Bethany Lewis battled through an ankle injury to place fourth on the vault (8.75), bars (8.35) and floor (8.625) and in the all-around (33.7) Thursday.

“It wasn’t our best meet, but that’s OK,” East co-coach Melissa Dishinger said. “They’re all things we can fix. But Bethany is coming off of an injury from Friday, so she’s still recovering from that a little bit. This is really the first day we went full-out. She’ll be full health by sectional.”

Both North and East will compete in the Franklin Central Sectional Feb. 28. While the Bull Dogs’ regular season is complete, the Olympians will close with a home meet Monday against Seymour.

“Our goal is to be healthy and have everyone in the lineup come sectional,” East co-coach Katie Menefee said.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
