In November, I featured two companion dogs who were ready for adoption. Although they were in a foster home with Robin Speas of Santa Fe, she felt it was time for Pal and Patches, two senior dogs, to have a permanent home.
Pal, a silky terrier, was 14 years old, and his companion, Patches, a Havanese mix, was 16 when Donna Leshne, founder of Dew Paws Rescue, started her search for an adopter.
Leshne felt it was important the two be adopted together. Pal has vision problems and Patches can’t hear very well. Since the two have been together, Pal has relied on Patches to help him get around. Aside from the two issues, Pal and Patches are healthy and not on medication.
