Puppy love: Hospital facility dogs spread smiles on Valentine’s Day

SHOREWOOD HILLS, Wis. — Man’s best friend spent Valentine’s Day cheering up kiddos in the hospital this year.

Facility dogs at UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital in Shorewood Hills were on hand at CHAMPs Cupid’s Corner in the hospital’s lobby.

Patients could come to the booth for a hug and photo with a dog. Patients could also take grab-and-go activities back to their rooms such as Valentine’s Day coloring books.

After all, there’s nothing like puppy love to cheer someone up.

CHAMPs, or Canine Health and Medical Pals, launched at American Family Children’s Hospital in 2021. Through CHAMPs, four specially-trained dogs work with hospital staff on select units to support patients in need.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
