CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The 3-year-old girl mauled to death by her father’s dogs was attacked for half an hour with no one coming to her aid.
That’s according to the assistant prosecutor who spoke during Warren Houston’s arraignment via video Friday. The fatal attack in was apparently caught on video.
The assistant prosecutor said one of Houston’s two dogs was known to be aggressive and was always caged but the cage was not functioning. She also said there were no barriers keeping the dogs from where Kingsley Wright was sleeping on the couch at Houston’s Roselawn home last December.
She said the attack went on for approximately half an hour with Kingsley yelling and crying while the dogs were barking loudly. No one in the home woke up until approximately 8 a.m. the next morning when she was found dead.
The coroner does not believe she died right away, said the assistant prosecutor.
Houston’s attorney said his client recently began grief counseling.
The judge ordered Houston held on $200,000 bond on involuntary manslaughter, endangering children, and reckless homicide charges.
