ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The ASPCA is temporarily closing to address over 50 chihuahuas that were recovered from a deplorable home in Adams County on Feb. 7.

With assistance from Pennsylvania State Police, the ASPCA rescued 63 dogs from a home that troopers say was “covered in urine and feces.” Troopers were reportedly unable to step anywhere “without stepping in feces.”
All dogs were found to be infested with parasites that demanded immediate veterinary care.
One dog that was found in between two couch cushions was humanly euthanized due to constant seizures, malnutrition and a bodily bug infestation.
The ACSPCA says that this is the largest single intake of animals in the company’s 49-year history.
The rescued animals are currently not available for adoption as they continue to rehabilitate the dogs. The ACSPCA released the following statement regarding the animals:
If you are looking to help; we are in need of towels (bath & beach), thin fleece blankets, wash cloths, flat sheets (NO fitted), bleach, and Purina One Skin & Coat formula dog food (we want to keep them all on the same food).
