TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – Tuscaloosa deputies, NorthStar, Echola Fire, and animal control responded to the 13000 block of Boyd Road on a medical call Thursday, Feb. 6, around 9 a.m.
Tuscaloosa authorities say someone called 911 to report that a woman was being attacked by a pack of dogs in front of the house. Deputies arrived and attempted lifesaving measures, but she did not survive.
Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) responded to the scene to assume the investigation.
VCU says the incident occurred in the yard and on the property that the dogs belonged to, and the woman went to the residence to feed the dogs for the owner, who was out of town.
At this time, the VCU says this appears to be a non-criminal incident, and out of respect for the victim’s family, no other details will be released.
