The Fort Myers Fire Department responded to a house fire that has left seven people and three dogs without a home.
Firefighters attacked the blazing building located on Dora Street, west of Veronic Shoemaker Boulevard, late Thursday.
A caged dog near the front of the building was rescued as first responders struck the roof line for better access to the flames.
Smoke bellowed from the building as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross in Fort Myers launched its disaster action team to help coordinate emergency aid to the seven people impacted by the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
