Haverhill’s Woofstock, a Haverhill celebration of dogs and local farms alike, returns for its second year this fall.
Woofstock, inspired by Cyndie Morgan and her dog Nigel, is set for Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Chris’s Farm Stand on Salem Street, in Bradford.
“This event not only honors our passion for dogs but also aids our local farms and nonprofits,” Morgan says. “It promises to be a day full of joy, and we are excited to unite the community in making it a success. Following the overwhelming success of our inaugural debut in 2024, we are eager to build on that momentum and create an even more memorable experience for everyone involved.”
The 200-year-old farm hosts dog adoptions, live music, local food vendors and various dog activities. Visitors may also enjoy apple picking, exploring the farm and shopping for fresh produce, honey, eggs and more.
The event includes an educational segment showcasing various organizations and highlighting the meaningful bond between humans and animals, as well as its positive effects on society. There will be a K9 demonstration, and an opportunity to engage with the city’s animal control officer about the importance of these roles within the community.
Morgan provides more detail when she appears on WHAV’s “Win for Breakfast” program, Friday, Feb. 21.
Nonprofit partners include Sweet Paws Rescue, providing adoption education, and Haverhill Promise, who will be donating books. Local artists, such as Dale Roger’s Studio, will showcase their work. Sponsors include WHAV and Northeastern Property & Development, and additional sponsors are sought with a variety of levels and recognition.
