8 dogs found abandoned behind southern Utah animal shelter, police seek information

ST. GEORGE — The Washington City Police Department is asking the public for help with a case involving multiple dogs reportedly abandoned in a remote area behind an animal shelter over the weekend.

Officers received multiple calls Sunday morning reporting that a group of dogs was spotted near the trail behind the Washington City Animal Shelter, according to a message posted on the shelter’s social media. They found eight or nine dogs in a wash behind the shelter on East Industrial Road.

Washington Police Lt. Kory Klotz told St. George News that animal control officers suspect the canines were abandoned late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, judging by several calls that came into emergency dispatch on Sunday.

He said the animals were likely dropped off intentionally, based on the number of adult dogs abandoned in a single incident.

The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
