73-year-old woman dead after dog attack in Pickaway County

An officer with the Ashville Police Department shot one of the two dogs after it went to attack him.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 73-year-old woman is dead after she was attacked by dogs in Pickaway County on Thursday.

According to a spokesperson for Harrison Township, the attack happened on Kidlow Court in Ashville, near the woman’s home.

The woman, identified by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office as Jo Echelbarger, suffered serious injuries from the attack and went into cardiac arrest on the way to Grant Medical Center.  She was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
