Several dogs were rescued from a home in Fond du Lac County after being found in “deplorable condition.”
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home in the Town of Calumet yesterday (November 6th) just before 11:30 a.m. for a welfare check.
Initial reports claimed an unpleasant odor was coming from the residence, and the Sheriff’s Office gained access via a search warrant.
Upon gaining entry to the home, they discovered 70 dogs in various stages of health living in what the authorities have called “deplorable conditions” needing significant attention.
All dogs were safely and successfully removed and turned over to the Eastshore Humane Association in Chilton, where they will receive the necessary health care and attention they need.
An unplanned sheltering of 70 dogs will require significant resources, and those who wish to help may contact the Eastshore Humane Association at 920-849-2390.
The case is under investigation, which remains open and active.
Once the investigation is complete, charges are expected to be filed.
