67-year-old Caseyville man killed in dog attack, police say

Caseyville Police Chief Woodrow Hall said three dogs were taken from the scene by St. Clair County animal control officers.

CASEYVILLE, Ill. — A Caseyville man was killed in a dog attack Tuesday afternoon, according to the city’s police chief.

Chief Woodrow Hall said the incident happened at about 2 p.m. on Susanne Court near Old Caseyville Road. Neighbors said three pitbulls lived at the home.

Two of the dogs were fighting in the home’s backyard when a man and his son-in-law tried to break them up, neighbors said.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as Kent Recklein.

Hall said the dogs were taken by animal control officers to the St. Clair County Animal Control Center.

More information would be available once the investigation is complete, Hall said.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
