6 Dogs Found Abandoned In Morrisville Park

MORRISVILLE, PA —They were left with a note.

The Morrisville Borough Police Department reported that six dogs were abandoned at the dog park over the weekend with the owner saying that they couldn’t keep the dogs.

“Six dogs were abandoned at the dog park, a choice that, although seemingly motivated by good intentions, is not the correct approach,” police said in a Facebook post. “Please be aware that animal shelters are available for individuals who can no longer care for their pets.”

Mayor Gary Wallace and police said Monday that three of the dogs were adopted by the people who found them in the dog park and that the other three were taken to the Bucks County SPCA shelter in Lahaska.

The anonymous author stated in the letter that they rescued the six young dogs from an “old lady who already had too many dogs that keep getting pregnant.”

The letter writer took the dogs after the woman ran out of food. But then there were complications.

The apartment wouldn’t accept the dogs so the letter writer had to give them up, thinking that the park at Philadelphia and Delmorr avenues was the best option.

The letter writer didn’t know the names of the dogs but said in the letter that the “fluffy ones” were less than a year old and the brown ones were 18 months.

Anyone who would like to adopt the remaining dogs should contact the Bucks County SPCA at 215-794-7425 today.

Anyone with information about the original owner of these animals should contact Cpl. Halas at L.Halas@morrisvillepolice.org or 215-295-8112. You can also submit a tip on Morrisville CrimeWatch.
