$5K reward offered to find suspect who dragged 2 dogs behind car in DeKalb County

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – An animal rights group is offering a cash reward in a DeKalb County animal cruelty case.

Surveillance video from Redan Recreation Center in Lithonia on Sept. 13 shows the suspect dragging two dogs behind a car.

“We have to get this guy arrested and prosecuted immediately and as soon as possible,” said Sarita Raturi with Georgia Animal Rights and Protection.

The agency has partnered with Halo House for Dogs offering a $5,000 reward for information that will lead to an arrest.

“Research has proven that there is a direct link between such animal abuse and other crimes,” Raturi said. “Child abuse and senior abuse and domestic violence. It is connected to this kind of mentality.”

Authorities said one dog died in the incident.

The other nine-month-old pup named Laydon was treated for serious injuries at DeKalb County Animal Services.

The shelter said Laydon has made an amazing recovery and was adopted by a family recently.

Ratrui said they hope that someone will come forward in the case.

“We will not tolerate any cruelty towards animals,” she said.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
