CONCORD, N.C. — Crews with the Concord Fire Department were able to rescue five dogs from a house fire Wednesday morning.
The department said it responded to a home along Wilmar Street near Church Street shortly after 11 a.m. Crews spotted heavy smoke coming from the single-story home and got the flames under control within 13 minutes.
While nobody was home at the time, firefighters were able to get five dogs out and reunite them with their owner.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
