40 feral dogs euthanized after woman found injured

DAVIDSON COUNTY – A Denton man was arrested after law enforcement discovered an elderly female living in his house with more than 40 large dogs had been injured.

Melvin “Sonny” Berry was arrested on Monday and charged with felony domestic elderly abuse or neglect with serious injuries, misdemeanor local ordinance charge and 20 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty. Berry is scheduled to appear in Lexington District Court on July 23.
