LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds will take over the Kentucky Exposition Center this weekend.
The Kentuckiana Cluster of Dog Shows runs through Sunday, bringing thousands of dogs and their owners to Louisville. The best of the best dogs will compete for top honors in different events, including obedience, rally, fast cat and dock diving.
There are about 3,500 entries each day, and people are invited to come watch the action. Organizers said the cluster has been going on for 100 years, and is the “Kentucky Derby of the dog show world.”
“It’s centrally-located, so it brings a lot of different people from other states and it’s a great place. They do multiple events, it’s a great meet-up. Very traditional in the dog show world,” said Brooke Reed, with the Kentuckiana Cluster of Dog Shows.
There are also dozens of vendors available to explore. The lobby will also be filled with live music from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, courtesy of the Tiffany Lynn Puckett Trio.
Adult tickets are $10, while seniors and kids under 13 are $5. Kids under the age of 3 are free. Military and first responders — EMT, fire and police — are also free with proper identification.
Parking is $15 at the gate for a single day in/out pass at the Expo Center. Single-day, one-time entrance passes can be purchased online in advance for $13 by clicking here.
The event takes place in Broadbent Arena, the Pavilion, the West Hall and West Wing of the Expo Center.
