
WATERTOWN, N.Y. — New York State Police said a major weapons bust recovered guns, Kung Fu stars, illegal fireworks and found dead dogs.
Law enforcement began investigating on Feb. 24 after troopers from Watertown, N.Y. discovered Guy J. Plumb, 28, of Redwood, N.Y. was in possession of an illegal revolver. An investigation by the Counter Terrorism Intelligence Unit learned that he did not possess a valid New York State Pistol Permit.
Further investigation determined that his he and his father, Timothy D. Plumb, 52, of Pleiss, N.Y. owned multiple illegal firearms without permits.
On March 18, Police searched three different locations in Redwood, Plessis and Alexandria Bay, N.Y. during the course of the investigation and recovered the following:
- Two Kung Fu stars
- .22 caliber converted assault weapon
- 26 long guns
- Five loaded revolvers
- One pistol
- Numerous rounds of ammunition
- Boxes of dangerous fireworks
- Two dead dogs that were, per State Police, intentionally shot and killed by Guy Plumb
Now, Guy Plumb is facing felony charges of criminal sale of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal sale of semiautomatic rifle and aggravated cruelty to animals. He is also facing misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a weapon and conspiracy as well as a dangerous fireworks violation.
His father, Timothy Plumb, is facing felony charges of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.
The two were transported to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building for arraignment.
State Police said a necropsy on the deceased dogs will be conducted at a later date.
The Troop D VGNET Syracuse/Utica, CTIU-North, Troop D-Zone 3 BCI, Troop D-Zone 3 Uniform Patrol, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives assisted with the search warrants and investigation.
