The SPCA Serving Erie County rescued 32 puppies and dogs from a house in rough shape on Wednesday night.
ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — The SPCA Serving Erie County rescued 32 puppies and dogs from a home that was in deplorable conditions on Wednesday night.
“These innocent animals were discovered in a home burdened by feces and garbage, enduring some of the harshest circumstances our team has ever encountered. After a long and challenging rescue effort that went late into the night in bitterly cold temperatures, these precious pups are now safe and wrapped in warmth and care.” the SPCA said in a social post.
Now the SPCA will be working towards helping get all of the dogs and puppies, which appear to be Newfoundland breed mixes, in better shape. They have set up veterinary care, and none of the dogs will be considered for adoption until after they are medically assessed.
The owner has been charged with animal cruelty and will be arraigned in April. The SPCA is not releasing their name.
The SPCA is also asking that if anyone is feeling generous, that they will be accepting donations towards this rescue group of dogs and puppies. Those who wish to make a donation can click here.
Details on where the puppies and dogs were found or their owner has not been shared.
