3 people and dog fell through ice on Concord River, Bedford police say

Three people and a dog were rescued after falling through ice on the Concord River in Bedford on Saturday.

At about 2:40 p.m., police were called to the river’s boat ramp on Carlisle Road after a woman and her dog fell through the ice, according to Bedford Chief John Fisher.

Police say a dog walking on the ice fell into the water, and the owner tried to rescue the dog before she fell through the ice as well.

A second person tried to rescue them but also fell through the ice.

A good Samaritan who saw the incident went into the icy water in an attempt to save them.

Bedford police arrived within minutes of receiving the call and threw emergency water and ice rescue disks and rope from the shore to rescue all three people and the dog.

The woman was brought to a local hospital for cold exposure. The other two people who entered the water and the dog were not hospitalized, police said.

“[Responding officers] did an incredible job and were able to pull everyone from the water before anyone was seriously injured,” Chief Fisher said in a statement.

“I also want to urge residents to stay off the ice. While no natural ice is ever 100 percent safe, icy waterways in Bedford are absolutely not safe for any human activities at this time,” he added.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
