3 dogs, 2 cats rescued from house fire in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) – Several pets were rescued by firefighters during a house fire in Vancouver on Thursday afternoon.

Just after 3:30 p.m., Vancouver Fire crews were called out to a fire in the 2700 block of Northeast Littler Way. Officials say neighbors called 911 after hearing smoke alarms and seeing smoke coming from the home.

Fire crews on scene entered the home and found fire in the kitchen. The fire was quickly extinguished.

Officials say firefighters rescued three kenneled dogs inside the home. The homeowners were not at home at the time of the fire and arrived shortly after their pets were carried out.

In all, three dogs and two cats survived.

The Vancouver Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause.
