2-year-old hospitalized after dog attack in Putnam County

An incident report states first responders found the child with his left cheek barely attached after the attack.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — A 2-year-old boy was hospitalized with injuries to his face from a dog bite Tuesday, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

An incident report states first responders found the child with his left cheek barely attached and damage to his chin after the attack.

The owners of the dog, named “Blueberry,” told police the child was playing with the dog’s ears when the dog started to growl. The owner said she pulled the child away from the dog, but had looked away and the child went back to the dog. That’s when the report states the dog bit the child’s face and was pulled away by the owners.

The owners told police the dog had previously attacked other dogs, but had never attacked a person.

Putnam County Animal Control took Blueberry without incident. The owners were upset that their dog was taken and blamed the child for getting bitten.

The Department of Children and Families is reviewing the incident.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
