COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) — Two men were attacked by dogs in separate incidents in Colerain Township on Wednesday.
Colerain Township police officers responded to a report of a man attacked by three large dogs on Grasscreek Court. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and managed to take himself to a hospital for medical treatment. The dogs had fled the scene by the time officers arrived.
Later, at 2:40 p.m., officers were called to Adams Road, where a resident reported that unknown dogs had jumped into his backyard, killed his chickens, and bitten him. The man suffered minor injuries.
Officers attempted to contain the dogs until the Hamilton County Dog Warden arrived, but one dog became aggressive and charged at an officer. In self-defense, the officer shot and killed the dog, injuring another in the process. The injured dog remained with the family for medical attention, while the deceased dog and the third dog were seized by the dog warden.
The attacks on Wednesday followed another dog attack that happened in Colerain Township on March 7.
The Hamilton County Dog Warden is investigating the incident. Anyone with information or concerns about dogs in the area is urged to contact the Hamilton County Dog Warden at (513)-541-7387.
