2 injured, dog killed after LPD K-9 attacks 2 people in SW Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Two people have been injured and a K-9 with the Lubbock Police Department has been killed after the dog escaped from his handler’s backyard and attacked two people in the 5700 block of 108th Street on Saturday morning.

One person suffered serious injuries and another suffered moderate injuries before a citizen intervened to shoot and kill the dog.

Shortly after, an off-duty officer called requesting units to help him find his dog.

LPD says, “It was later confirmed that this same K-9 was involved in the incident.”

LPD issued this statement on Saturday afternoon: “The K-9’s handler has been placed on administrative leave while we conduct a full and thorough review of what happened. We take this incident seriously and are committed to holding ourselves accountable. Our priority is always the safety of our community, and we are working to understand how this occurred and how to prevent something like it in the future. This investigation is ongoing, and we will provide updates as appropriate.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
