2 dogs perish in Virginia Beach house fire

A house fire in Virginia Beach on Friday night displaced three adults and killed two dogs.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Two dogs died and three people are displaced after a house fire in the Salem Villages area of Virginia Beach Friday evening.

The fire in the 1700 block of Aquamarine Drive was reported at 11:42 p.m. Friday. Crews arrived at 11:47 p.m. to find heavy smoke and flames visible coming from the two-story house.

Crews had water on the fire at 11:52 p.m. The fire was marked under control at 12:08 a.m. and marked out at 1:08 a.m.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. However, of the five dogs removed from the residence, two were deceased.

Three adults are displaced. The origin of the fire is under investigation.
