2 dogs, Paula and Stella, were left alone for 2 weeks in an Auburn house. Here’s what police found

Auburn, N.Y. — Two dogs were abandoned for over a week in Central New York and one will have health issues for the rest of her life, police said Thursday.

Stella, a two-year-old pitbull mix, and Paula, an eight-year-old chihuahua mix, were left in crates in a condemned Auburn home on North Division Street for 10 days, according to Auburn police.

The dogs were not checked on or fed for those 10 days, police said. They were found on March 19, police said.

Police discovered that Stella had lived in a crate too small for her size most of her life, police said. Because of the conditions of the crate she had no pads left on her feet and will have to wear boots on her paws for the rest of her life, police said.

Her paws were also swollen and infected, police said. When she was released from the crate she could not take more than two steps on her own.

She had also been deprived of adequate food since at least November and was underweight and malnourished, police said.

Paula was in great condition for being an elderly dog, said police Capt. Michael Chadwick.

Both dogs were taken to Friends Forever animal shelter in Pennelville, he said.

On Wednesday Stella and Paula’s owners were arrested, police said.

Laura L. Hendrickson and Kenneth D. Sulgar were arrested and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals; two counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; two counts of abandonment of animals; and failure to provide proper food and drink to an impounded animal, police said.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
