2 dogs found dead in Mount Airy house fire, officials say
Firefighters found two dogs dead after extinguishing a house fire Thursday morning.A neighbor called 911 around 7:39 a.m., alerting firefighters to a house fire in the 300 block of Carroll Avenue in Mount Airy, the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office said.It took about 40 minutes for dozens of firefighters from the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Co. to get the fire under control.No injuries were reported. Two dogs were found dead inside the house.The fire marshal said the fire originated in the kitchen, resulting in an estimated $125,000 in damage. A cause of the fire remains under investigation.
