2 dogs die in fire that destroyed Scott mobile home

SCOTT, La. — The Scott Fire Department responded to a reported residential fire in the 200 block of Fenetre Road in Scott on Monday, February 24, around 3 a.m. 

Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames shooting from multiple windows of the mobile home.

The owner informed firefighters that the structure was unoccupied.

Firefighters promptly entered the structure to extinguish the fire, where they encountered intense flames.

The fire was brought under control within about 20 minutes.

Unfortunately, two dogs inside the residence were unable to escape.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The residence sustained significant fire damage throughout, rendering it a complete loss.

Units from Lafayette, Duson, and Judice provided assistance.

Fortunately, no firefighters or civilians were injured during the incident.
