17 dogs found living in pickup truck in Kent County, owner under investigation

A man found living in his pickup truck with 17 dogs is under investigation, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday, the man’s vehicle was parked in front of a strip mall in Walker  a city bordering Grand Rapids.

A bystander spotted the dogs in the truck’s bed around 3:30 p.m. and called Animal Control, said the sheriff’s public information officer, Sgt. Kailey Gilbert. Once officers arrived, all 17 dogs were taken to the Kent County Animal Shelter pending investigation.

“As far as we know, they are okay,” Gilbert said. “They’re still being evaluated by Kent County Animal Shelter.”

The owner of the dogs has not been arrested. However, Gilbert said she expects the case to be reviewed for potential charges.

The Detroit Free Press reached out to the Kent County Animal Shelter for an update on the dogs but has not received a response as of Tuesday evening.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
