15 dogs, man escape Henrico house fire

HENRICO, Va. (WWBT)—A Henrico man and 15 dogs are expected to be okay after a house fire in the east end Thursday morning.

Officials say just before 7 a.m., crews were called to reports of a fire at a home in the 3000 block of Portuguee Road.

When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the back of the home.

“They were met by an adult female who had helped an older adult male vacate the home. Henrico Fire personnel transported the older male to an area hospital for minor injuries,” Henrico Fire said.

Officials say 15 dogs of various ages were found in and around the home.

Some of the dogs were given oxygen, according to officials.

The fire was marked under control shortly after 7:30 a.m.

Officials are looking into what started the fire.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
