101 dogs rescued from apparent puppy mill; several pregnant or nursing puppies

RALEIGH, N.C. (SPCA OF WAKE COUNTY/CNN NEWSOURCE/WKRC) – Authorities have rescued 101 dogs from an apparent puppy mill after receiving a tip about chickens living in poor conditions on the property.

Animal control officers in Raleigh, North Carolina, discovered the dogs in what they described as “egregious” conditions inside the unassuming home.

Some dogs were found in cages, with up to six dogs stacked to the ceiling, while others roamed freely through unsanitary areas. The majority of the dogs are pure or designer breeds, including Pomeranians, Yorkies, and “doodle” mixes. Several of the dogs were pregnant or nursing puppies.

The rescued dogs are currently being evaluated and treated by veterinarians. Once they are deemed healthy, they will be put up for adoption, according to the SPCA of Wake County.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
