1 person, 5 dogs killed in a fire near Doolittle, Mo.

NEAR DOOLITTLE, Mo. (KY3) -Eight fire departments were called to a large fire Thursday afternoon. The call came in at 3:20 to 21508 Private Drive 8496 west of town.

Firefighters found six buildings, a vehicle and a large grass fire when they arrived. They also found a person in cardiac arrest, that person was pulled away from the fire and given CPR, but they died. Five dogs were also killed.

The fire destroyed four buildings and damaged two others.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire departments from Cuba, Dixon, Rolla, Rolla Rural, St. James, St. Robert and Waynesville assisted the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District.
