BAYFIELD COUNTY, Wis. (Northern News Now) – Two hunting dogs were attacked by wolves in Bayfield County.

According to DNR officials, on July 3, two separate incidents occurred involving wolf attacks on trailing hounds.

In Bayfield, officials confirmed that a Bluetick Trailing Hound was killed by wolves. In a separate wolf attack in Washburn, a Walker Trailing Hound was injured.

Officials want to remind dog owners to use increased caution when in areas with wolves.
